Echoes of the Delta reimagines the future of Baytown, Texas—a region facing critical land loss due to sea level rise, storm surges, and subsidence. Building on the legacy of Feral Delta I, this project introduces Feral Delta II, a living infrastructure strategy centered around the Bald Cypress, a resilient, native tree that naturally traps sediment and builds land. This proposal treats the tree not only as an ecological actor but also as an architectural and urban one. Over the course of 30 to 60 years, Bald Cypress ecosystems are envisioned to transform flooded and degraded land into thriving wetlands, forests, and habitable landscapes.
